For months I've been wanting to have a little garden party to celebrate summer and to simply have a good time with my friends, and yesterday I finally managed to arrange something. I invited a couple of my close friends, my parents invited some of theirs and we all had a lovely evening together, eating good food, drinking wine, and having a great many laughs.
Probably due to my addiction of browsing Pinterest for party planning ideas, I knew that I wanted to DIY as much of the party decorations as I possibly could and turn my garden into a whimsical environment.
The above chalkboard is DIY, but I changed up the process from what I normally see online, and used black flat paint instead of chalkboard paint. It works just as well, but it's cheaper and it makes a lot more sense to buy black flat paint since you can use it for so many more things.
Prepare yourselves for a picture heavy post. Sorry to those with slower internet connections. Now is probably the perfect time to grab a coffee or some tea before you browse the rest of the photos.
I loved using jars to display all the little extras for the party, whether it was storing my photo booth props or straws for drinks.
I bought these striped paper cups at Winners and used them for my iced tea. There was something so quirky about them, it made the whole iced tea drinking experience so much better.
My friends and I really enjoyed the photo booth props.
This was my appetizers plate. I have some brushetta and mushrooms on french bread, couscous salad and boccocini dipped in olive oil and various spices.
