Movie Review: It Came from Outer Space

So every Friday I will be doing a movie review, and I'm going to try my best to pick movies that I feel most people won't have seen (insert very old 1950s B-list sci-fi films). I chose Friday for this little series because I think that Friday's are the perfect movie days. I love sitting in my pyjamas in my bed after a long school day and drinking tea while watching a movie before bed. Friday has always been "that" day for me, no matter how busy I've been with school or work or something. I hope you all enjoy this weekly series and if you have any movie recommendations, let me know!

The first movie to start off our Friday nights is, "It Came from Outer Space". It's probably one of the most hilarious sci-fi movies I have ever seen. It's a 1953 movie, so it really plays up gender stereotypes, but the gist of the movie is that a spaceship crashes in the Arizona desert. The aliens need time to fix their spaceship so they decide to enlist an amateur stargazer and his girlfriend to help them, so they begin to inhabit the bodies of the townspeople. Unfortunately, no one believes the amateur stargazer that aliens have landed on their planet, so they treat the couple as crazy people. The plot eventually circles down to a crazy mob, some explosions, and a happy ending.

Overall, I really enjoyed this film. The special effects are so ridiculous and the acting so over-the-top that it provides a very good laugh. Highly recommend this if you guys just want a laugh and like aliens (OMG, the alien is just . . . too hilarious for words).

Here are some screencaps courtesy of me! Enjoy! Let me know if you've seen the movie or plan to watch it!

Ps. One of the actors won a Golden Globe. That's how awesome this film is.
