revelations

Up until my junior year in high school, I never read the newspaper, well, that may be stretching it a bit, but I hardly ever read the paper. I still found ways to be informed, but I didn't know all that I could know. Yet, when grade 12 rolled around I took economics and my teacher told us to collect articles that revolved around the economy. This meant that when I got the paper, I would skim through all the other sections before I reached the business section. My second semester of grade 12 I took a political science course, and this teacher really encouraged us to read newspapers. Every friday certain students were assigned to find an article about an issue, then they would proceed to summarize it to the class, and finally, students would take turns discussing the article. I admit that I got used to this, and now that I'm in university, reading the paper has become a natural part of my day. My favourite section is the World News, and I even have a favourite columnist. Lately I've been looking to expand beyond the regular paper that I read; The New York Times is one of my other favourites.
Do you read the paper?

I am ashamed to admit that I don't regularly read the newspaper (head hung low) - maybe just an article here and there, if it sparks my interest. I think after going to university for so many years (8 long years), I lost the ability to read for interest. But someday ...

The texture of that skirt is amazing. And I really like the pink pattern on the sweater (I love that it's really subtle and I can only really see it on the close ups).

I get the Financial Times at the weekend and one of the best moments is to sit down with a cup of tea and open the paper. I don't want to draw you to the dark side, but the NY Times also has a great fashion blog...

OOH. I love that skirt. The texture is PERFECT and all the colours of your outfit is really interesting - but works! You pull of pastels so well.

I should probably read the paper, but I don't. :/ But I do watch/ listen to news daily, so I like to think that I'm at least semi-informed of my surroundings. I think that that's important.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

You took a top and a bottom that I would never think would look good together if I saw them seperately, yet you've put them together and made a gorgeous outfit. Seriously, you've got skills :]

As for the newspaper, my History of California professor last semester made us read it. I hated this professor, so I kind of stopped reading it once the semester was over. A stupid sort of rebellion, I guess. I believe now is the time for me to forget about annoying teachers and get back to reading it.

I do follow the New York Times on Twitter, and that often leads me to reading articles online.

and i also was made to read the paper in high school; i occasionally glance at it at times. i read newsday, and sometimes Metro & the AM newspaper along with the new york times.

great skirt. i have to admit that i'm more of a sporadic consumer of news, although i manage to stay fairly informed.

I love the texture of the skirt. Very cool.

I used to read the New York Times everyday, but now I just skim it. I'm too busy now and I'm afraid in some ways I just don't care as much.

I love your skirt!

As for the newspapers - well I regularly read the Life and Style sections but it wasn't until this point in my life (when I'm revising for these financial law exams) when I've really understood the finance section of the newspaper. I don't read it as much as I should but I at least understand the principles now!

This might be my favorite look of yours to date! I love the fuzzy skirt and the pretty sweater together. This looks so warm and cozy, yet "upbeat" on a gray day. I try to read the paper, but I hate to say I don't do it as much as I should, lately :-(
